Conference Week! - Apr 7

Well this week was really great!  We all had the wonderful opportunity so listen to our living prophet Thomas S Monson and his apostles! I am so grateful now so much for for the wonderful world of technology because I was able to listen to conference LIVE!! And in English! Haha that is a plus! It was really good thanks to satellite we were all able to listen to conference the same time as you all! It was a little different because Saturday we couldn't get it to work so we listened to the radio on the computer and watched on the t.v. but it was off by like 30 seconds haha good thing there aren't any super nice t.v.'s here! We where in the bishops office.. 10 missionaries without ac in one little tiny room... but hey we got to listen!!  Sunday they had it working so we got to watch in a bigger room.. still no ac but hey it all works!! I was so relaxed to just be able to listen to so many wonderful talks and learn so much! I think we all have some changing and preparing to do! The 2nd coming is coming and we are all going to need to be prepared to stand before the Savior... on one note I hope that you all listened to Elder Ballards talk! It was so good and really we do need your help! I hope that you will all take the challenge that he gave to read Preach My Gospel! It is a wonderful hand book that can help in so many more ways than just the work of the Lord! I will be checking up on you all so that you can tell me what you are learning! Today I studied in using your time wisely.. I am pretty sure that it is chapter 8 but I love the quote form Elder Ballard about setting goals! I hope that you will all look it up and then set goals to really change and better your lives!

Well in the conference we had a  lot of success! We had 5 investigators, both of my 2 recent converts and 8 less actives! It was super good! Really we could feel the spirit so strongly in the building! I love listening to the words of the Lord and direct revelation!

Also this week we had many miracles in our area! The two little girls that we bauptized like 5 weeks ago... well there mom Viviana is a returned missionary but less active! She is coming back to church and right now preparing again to enter into the temple!! She has her two daughters which were both bauptized in Feb. and right now we are teaching her husband.. and he is so hard!! World's hardest investigator... haha no, but really he is super hard quite but the nicest guy on earth I just can honest never know what he is thinking!! That is why he is so hard but this week he excepted a bauptism date!!!! It was so good the spirit during the lesson was amazing we had another less active with us Carlos... (my son like I always say) and his testimony was beautiful! Really he testified of the truth and it changed the whole lesson! I am so excited! because they are also making plans to go to the temple and be sealed! It is so good. I have never felt so much joy before in my life!!! Also he was in the conference and he said that it was really good! He liked it and he liked what he learned! It was so good!

The other 4 that where in the conference is a family of 4 and it just so happens to be the sister of Viviana so we had all of their family with us! It was really good and they liked the conference also!!

This week has really been one that I will never forget! I am so grateful for all that I was able to learn this weekend! Really we are so blessed! And I am so grateful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We are so blessed to know what he did for us! We are so blessed to have his promise that he will always be with us and we would never forget it!!!

I hope and pray for all of you each day and that you will make it more of a priority to help in the work of the Lord together with the missionaries!! I hope that all of your testimonies were lifted and brightened this week!! Let us all strive to do better!! Like President Uchtdorf said, " the most important thing to do is to keep trying!" Never give up in the work of the Lord! Help all the people that you can! If you are thinking of someone that you want to help come unto Christ DO IT!!!! Never delay a prompting of the spirit and for the Lord!!!

Thank you all so much for you love and support! I am so blessed to have every single one of you in my life!!!

Much love and I pray for you all daily!

My new comp.. she is tiny!!

Hola!!! - Mar 31

Wow I can't believe that this week has already come and gone by!! It has definitely been a week of a lot of growth! I have spent a lot of time on my knees! And really I have learned so much! My new comp. se llama Hna chicaiza she is from Columbia she is really great! Definitely a change but really it has helped me grow so much! Really this week I feel like I am a whole different person! But it is so good! This week I have been in charge of everything because my comp doesn't know anything about this area... but through hard things we are really able to learn and grow so much! The time that has been spent on my knees has been well worth it! Because through my prayers I have been given the strength to move on and really focus on the work! With hna pari it was easy to kind of just lay back and follow her guide because really I have found out this week that I was given the worlds best trainer.. but anyways this week I have learned that we must follow the spirit and we WILL be given answer of what to do!! Really it was so great so many lessons this week I have been guided to say things and I don't know where my Spanish came from but it would just flow!! So many times we would go into a lesson wanting to teach something and we would completely change!! I cannot thank my Heavenly Father enough for the help that I have been given this week!!

My favorite part of this week was a lesson that we had with one of our invest. se llama Maria y Rene that are great but haven't been attending church  so we decided to teach them about the Sabbath day and I was super hard they believe so much in the bible and I was so so so so so scared!! But we explained to them and they completely understood and they are going to come with us this week to general conference!! I am super excited and when Maria was praying she said in her prayer "please bless us as we are changing our path in life with our religion!!!!!!!"" it was the best thing in the whole world we going to to put there bauptism date 27 de abril!! It will be so great and I just know that really it will all work out!! I am so happy and we have been talking with the dad of our last bauptism and he is progressing well!! He needs to have a little bit more of a desire but really he is so great! And when we bauptism him they want to prepare to go to the temple to be sealed!!! I am so excited!! I just have this fire right now that I want every single person to know about this gospel!! Our mission has been focusing on talking to everyone so every person that we cross in the streets we talk with them for like 3 minutes and give them a pass-along card and really it has been good for me!! I had so much fear to talk with the people in the streets but now i just want to talk with everyone!! Really it is so good! We never know who we are going to help we just pray that the Lord will put them in our path so when we are talking with everyone we have a better chance of finding them!! Really I love serving, I have changed so much this week and grown so much!! It has been a really hard week for my but really I wouldn't change it for the world because I have learned so much!!

Yesterday I was talking with the zone leader and we where talking for like 4 minutes and he said something like Hna Chicaiza how is your new comp.. and I said elder you are talking with Hna Griffiths and he was shocked!  He said that I have learned so much and that he is amazed at how fast i have been at it... it was really nice!! It made me feel really good about my Spanish!! Haha I live in an English free world now!! I live with 3 latinas! Haha but it is super good because I have grown a lot!!

Well I can't believe that it really has been another week in the field!! I am so grateful for the chance that I have to serve.  I love serving so much really it has helped me grow so much!!  Thank you all for all of the help and words of advise!!  I will talk with you all soon!!

Hermana Griffiths!!!

Well looks like there is a change in my future... - Mar 24

Well this week has been crazy and I don't have much time to write you but late last night we got the call! And I will be directing the area of perico with my new acompañara. pero I don't know what her name is.. haha she missed the bus in the morning so she isn't with me right now but I am with a member waiting for her... haha the day has been crazy because we went to bed at like 2 because hna pari and hna tew where packing their bags and and then we woke up at 5:30... haha what a long night night.. but it has been good it was really hard to say goodbye to hna pari.  She really is amazing she has helped me learn so much! I am going to miss her so much but there is someone else that I need to work with that will be able to help me!  All I know is that my comp. is nothing.. haha hna pari says that she is a really good missionary and she will help me a lot! Really yesterday was hard because we had to say goodbye to the members of the ward and they where sad because we worked so much with them... goodbyes are not my favorite thing in the mission!! But it is part of it! I am really excited to see what this tranfer will bring for me! I hope a lot of growth! I should be able to learn a lot of spanish because I am lñiving with 3 latinas! Haha no english whatsoever for me!! But it will be good I would really love to forget it! Haha how funny! But really all is well I am just working and hoping the nest for this transfer! It will be good! I am excited to lead the area because also that should help me learn!! All is well here in perico! Right now I am actually in jujuy the BIG city with the member her name is Carolina she is great haha she is like my other comp..

Thank you all for the support.  I am sorry that this weeks letter is short and doesn't have much information but it has been a crazy day!!  I will share a lot more with you all next week!!! I love serving the Lord, it is so great! It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself and for the people here!! I hope that you all can help more in the work because it isn't just for us missionaries! Really this work is for total!! We need the help of the members to really fulfill our callings!! I LOVE SERVING!!! Talk with you all soon!!

Hermana Griffiths!

20 years old..... - Mar 17

Well I tried to put picture on but I couldn't get it to work sorry! Don't want to waste all of my time with them! Anyways to clear things up haha the "elder" that was in my picture the other week isn't an elder he had hna paris tag on he is Carlos our menos activo that we are working with!! Haha but he is amazing! He is changing so much and it is so nice! He talked with the bishop this week about his mission and he can't leave until he finishes high school but that is his goal right now and next month he will receive the priesthood melquisedec haha I have no idea how to spell that in english! Haha anyways! So we are very proud and pleased to be able to work with such a wonderful young man!

This week my birthday was great! Really it was a great one that I will never forget! In the morning I got an egg smashed in my hair... thank you hna musmano.. haha I was pretty mad until I found out that it is a tradition here.. and then we headed out to work! We worked all day long! It was a long day but we had lunch with my favorite member family! And it was good! They gave me a chocolate bar and it was super nice because this family is super humble... they don't have much so it meant a lot to me that they would buy that for me! They set a goal to go to the temple to be sealed in July of 2015!! I am hoping that it will be when I am back here with mom and dad and that we will be able to see it! I would love it so much!  That night we had a lesson with the other sisters converso he hasn't wanted to talk with anyone and hasn't been coming to church so when he said that he wanted to talk with us we where pretty happy the lesson was super good and he got a blessing from the bishop! It was really great we are hoping that he will come back to church his bauptism was only in January so we have all been pretty bummed that he isn't coming to church but we will see how that goes! After we went to our most recent converts house! Micaela, Andrea, and Viviana and had pizzas for my birthday it was super good¨!!!! Yummy yummy!!! It was fun to have a little bit of a party! After nothing much headed home and planned the next day we had lunch with another family for my birthday! And they bought me a cake! it was super yummy!!
Our mission president has focused so much the last couple of weeks on helping us understand that we have to hasten the work and that we are never doing enough! We have to always do more and more!!! So we have been contacting literally everyone that we pass in the streets it has been really good.  It has helped me with my Spanish to just talk with people! We just talk with them for like 3 minutes but we have been able to find some really great invest. por medio ese!! (though this)

This week we have had some really amazing lessons and miracles in our area! We contacted a new family that are golden! They both work a lot so don't have a lot of time to talk but really they are great! It is a mom (Anna) and son( Franko) her husband died about 3 years ago so she has had a lot of questions about the plan of salvation! It has been really good to be able to teach her!

I am so blessed here in the misson! I love serving the Lord! Really it is the best thing that I have ever chosen to do! I love the people! I love the culture!! I don't love the food but hey it isn't that bad!! I have transfers this coming Sunday and have no idea what the Lord has in store for me! I am super sad because it is almost positive that I will get a new companion and I really love her so much it will be crazy to change! But hey this is the work of the Lord! I am here to do his will! Like my favorite hymn... "i'll go where you want me to go, be who you want me to be!!" Really I am here only to serve him! I can't believe how fast the time has flown here but I will serve him with all that I have for the next year!!! I am so excited for the many adventures that are in store for me!! A little bit scared but I am on the Lord's side! We all know who will win in the end, so why not join the fight!! We don't have any need to be afraid!!! I love you all so much!!! Thank you so much for the support!! Wish me luck with my 1st transfer!!!

Hermana Griffiths

- Because of transfers I have no idea if I will be able to write you all next week! So if not next week, talk to you soon!!!

My birthday week!!! Mar 10

What a great week in the work of the Lord!! Really I have learned so much this week! And I have loved every minute of it!! This week we have zone conference with Presidente y Hermana Levrino! It was amazing! Truly so great we found out who our next mission Presidente is he is from Buenos Aires. But he speaks like perfect English! That will be way good for the greenies! Because the 1st little while is hard when you need help and you can't talk to your president! But I love Presidente Levrino I learned so much from him this week and it was so good because I understood EVERY WORD!!! It really is amazing haha because the 1st conference was super hard to understand!!!! In the conference everyone has to prepare a talk about a topic that Presidente chooses well low and behold the other sister never told us what was the topic until we were in the taxi driving to the church... so I just thought for a little while and prayed that I wouldn't be called on.... well my prayers were answered.. kind of.. haha I was called on to talk but it was really good I just talked and talked and talked.. I don't know where the words came from..but it was really good! And Hermana Levrino came up to after and said that my spanish is great! And that she can only imagine how great it will when I have one year!! Really it was so good! Presidente said that DyC 88 72-73 talks about how the Lord will hasten his work in its time.. he said that it is this time and he not only is hastening but he is finishing his work! He had a meeting with Elder M Russel Ballard this last week and that he was talking so much about how the Lord has prepared to hastening that he is hastening and finishing his work and that the end is coming!! He stressed our callings so much! That us as missionaries right now were prepared before this earth to preach the gospel in this time! That we where chosen specifically at this time to preach because of our faith and testimonies! It was such a great conference! I could listen to Presidente all day long and it would never get old he is amazing!!! He really has been called of god to direct the work!!!

Yesterday we had two investigators in the capilla! (church) and they both loved it! One of them se llama Mabel she is super evangélico but she is reading the Book of Morman right now and really likes it! Ealier this week we were in a lesson and she told us that she just feel like something is mission in her faith that that she needs to find something more.. ding ding ding!!! THE GOSPEL!!! And ever more EL LIBRO DE MORMÓN!! She is great and wants to assist next week to learn more!! The other se llama Miguel he is the dad of our last bautism and he is hard like he doesn't open up much but he listened really well and I know that he felt the spirit! This week they are making pizza for my birthday! I am excited he loves it when we are in their house haha he won't tell us that but he told his wife that when we are in their house he feels different!! It is so good! I am super excited!! Really it is amazing! I was talking to hna pari the other day and I said that I feel like I have know them for like ever when I talk with him I feel like I have talked to him before... it is the craziest feeling but amazing because I know that he is chosen of God to listen to this message right now!!

Mi hijos! They are doing amazing right now! We are working so much with them to help them over come there addictions and they are doing it!! Carlos is going to be able to bautise one of the 8 years olds in our ward! This weekend!!!! Really it is so amazing! I am so proud of them! I can't imagine how hard it is but they are both working so hard to be worthy!!! It really is amazing because with the help of the lord they are doing it!!!

Yesterday we had a lesson with one of our old investigators and she wants to listen again!!! Which is great!!! So we are praying for her and her family!! Haha the funny part is that she noticed that my spanish is better!!! Haha it was great!

Funny story... the other day we where in our house and my comp screamed so loud... and she was so scared I went to see where the bug was because I knew that it was a bug and it was a grasshopper she was so scared... they don't have them in her house so she had never seen one.. she was pretty scared!!

Other.. i fell and i have a huge cut on my knee haha it is pretty sweet! I will have to send a picture next week!!

Well that is all of this week! Today I just want to wish my buddy a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I cant believe that he is 4!!

Thanks for all the love and support!!! Talk to you all next week when I am 20!! Our my que loco!!!

Hermana Griffiths!!

Just a little note from you favortie Missionary!!:) - Mar 3

What a great week! really we have been so blessed with the help of the Lord this week! Well I really love my comp. so much really we are like the same person and we had no idea! We are always having so much fun together and I love it so much!! She is amazing and I will be really sad the day that I get a new comp! Speaking of which we have tranfers again on the 24th of March! Crazy I can't believe that it is March and That I almost have 5 months down in my mission!! Really the time has gone by so fast! Way too fast to really think and I don't want to think about it... anyways for the great spiritual experiences that I had this week..

We have been working a lot with the family Castillo, they are the two cute girls that we bauptized last week. we have been working to help there dad open up to us because he is really reserved.. not rude not shy just quite really he reminds me of my brother in law Trevor a lot!!! Haha like a lo!!!. but anyways we have been talking with him and just befriending him not really teaching much a little but we don't want to force it on him so it was his birthday this Saturday.. the same day as grandpa bud! Haha Dad I didn't forget! And so we went to there house in the morning to bake a cake while he was at work. and it was really good he came home and he wanted us to stay for lunch and he was like a chatter box! We couldn't stay for long because we had a lunch planned but we stayed for awhile and talked he has been doing a lot of research sobre utah and Perú haha because that is where me and hna Pari are from and he said that he has found the way to ger to hna paris lugar but mine no haha he said that he got to Mexico and then was lost.. it was funny!! But yesterday we went to there house to have a lesson and we talked with his wife for like ever and we have a plan so that we can start teaching! It is really good because his wife knows what we are doing and she is going to help!! So I would love if you all kept this family in your prayers!!

With my hijos haha Carlos and Alex, the two menos activos that we have been working with a lot!!! Well this week was really great Alex really opened up to us so we know what is up and can help him and Carlos is improving more and more everyday!! It its hard because Satan is doing all that he can to keep these two away from the church... but they are both so strong and I know that they will pull though!!! They are both really honest with us and it is good because we are really able to help them! This is one of my favorite parts of the work here is helping the less active members!! Really is is so joyful to see the light of Christ and his spirit enter back into to someones eyes!!! Well yesterday we headed to Alex's to teach him and his sister Melani and we where standing in the door and Melani opened the door and she had been crying I took her in my arms and she just cried for like 25 minutes in my arms.. turns out that that night he dad passed away from a heart attack... super sad we haven't been able to talk to Alex because he is in Bolivia with his mom getting his dad and everything because he died in Bolivia.. and it is hard because we are just hoping the best and that Alex isn't a complete wreck... But we have helped him and he know where to turn he understand that he has to turn to his Heavenly Father to receive the help that he need!! Also keep them in your prayers!

Well this week really has been a great one hard as always but great I love the work! I love serving the Lord and being the instrument in his hands to bring the gospel to his children.. I always say to my comp, "tenemos un gran privilegio para trabajar en este obra" and it is true!! I am here to serve the Lord and give him all that I have for these next 13 months!! Oh my that is weird to say. But as always I know that this church is true!! HELP THE MISSIONARIES IN YOUR AREA!! They really do need your help!! And never be afraid to share this message!!! Love you all so much!!! Talk to you next week! (on Dexter's birthday!! oh my I can't believe that also!)

Hermana Griffiths!!

2nd down the world to go!!! - Feb 24

What a great week!! We had our bautismo!! It was great!! Her and her little sister where bautismo!! There names are Micaela y andrea! One was for us and the other was for the ward because she only has 8 years!! It was great! Really! Saturday we had lunch at there house and bakes cakes! They were really good and I learned how to bake a cake from scratch!! Then that night we had their bautismo! It was so good and like all of there family was there and none of them are members only there mom! So it was really good to have a lot of non-members there lots of missionary opportunities!! The bautismo was great really! Their mom have been less active for ever and is a returned missionary but has completely changed and is working towards going to the temple again and everything it really was great! Our focus this week is to talk a lot with the dad because he is great! Really such a great man but just needs the gospel in his life! I know that we can help him!! Last week on valentines day our ward had a talent show! It was really fun! Haha I sang and it was great! Everyone loves when we sing in English!! Carlos and Alex the menos activos that we are working with right now gave us all chocolate for valentines!! haha so that is my picture and the others are from the bautism and making cake!!

This ward is great really so good!! we usually have around 100 people every week in sacrament! Which is really good and they are all really willing to help us with whatever we need! There is a lot of youth and they are really good at helping us almost everyday we have a member with us from 4:00-9:30! Which is great because when our investigators come to church they have more then only us that they know in the church! Our bishop is great, he is young only 28 and served a mission so he is really good at always helping us and is with us in lessons a lot also! His wife also served a mission so she understands when we need to have him with us and is really good at letting him help us!

More and more I love my comp. everyday! Really! We are super close! Of course we have our little fights but we are super good at talking about it and just letting it go! She is an amazing missionary and she has helped me really love my mission!! }

Well i am sorry they I don't have a lot to write about this week!! But I am doing great, I love serving, really it is the best thing in the whole wide world!!!!! I want all of you to work and find more opportunities to serve! Because when we are serving the Lord really everything is so much better! Thank you all for the support!! I know that this church is true and we can only find true happiness though it!!! Really we are so blessed to have this in our lives!!!

Talk to you all soon!!

Much love!!!!- Hermana Griffiths!

Another week down!! -Feb 27

HOLA AMIGOS Y MI FAMILIA!!!

Well this Hjek has been great! My companion and I have really been
focusing Only on the work and what the Lord wants us to do and it
really has payed off we have had a lot of éxito ( success) this week!
Oh and we have our 2nd bautismo this coming week! I am so excited!
Because it is the daughter of a super inactive person! She was going
to a different church and she is a returned missionary! She had been
inactive for like 15 years! But the other missionaries in our area
found her one day and we have been teaching her! And we are bautizing
both of her daughters this week one of them is 8 so it is a bautism
for the Ward and the other is 10 so it is a bautism for us! Which is
is exciting! The other day we were in a lesson with them and I was
talking about how the spirit can help us with all things in our lives
and that we a gran privilegio to have it with us at all time after we
are bautized! I was talking about how much this gift has helped in
during my mission to be able to talk with the people and that they can
understand what I am saying and she asked me how many months I have in
my mission and when I told her that I only have been here for 4 months
she was shocked and said that my castellano is super good and that she
can understand all that I am saying! Which is great and it made me
feel really good! This family is great! Really they have changed so
much in the last 4 weeks! And it really is an Amazing thing to see! It
is really great to be able to convert people to the gospel but it
really is Amazing to reactivate! I love working with the less active
people here because they are the key to our success in this work!

Yesterday I was sitting in sacrament meeting with Carlos! He is the
menos activo that we have been activating and he is now passing the
sacrament!!!! But he was really honest with me and was asking me for
a lot of advise because he was talking about how hard it is to change
right now! And he has changed so much and that a lot of the time it is
really hard and all of the sudden I was talking with him is almost
perfect castellano and I really have no idea what I said! Haha my
companion asked me after what we where talking about and all I could
say was that I had no idea but I know that it was the spirit that was
talking with him! It really is such a privilegio I can't remember the
word in English... to be the Lord's month peice! To be able
to see the change in so many people!

This week also I have learned so much about how we are in the right
place in the right area with the right people and in the right time
only because this is the work of the Lord! I LOVE MY CAMPÑERA! She is
Amazing and she helps me so much! Haha the first weeks were hard
because I didn't understand her and she is latino haha so everything is
different but now I really love her so much! We have so much fun
together! We are always playing little jokes on the other sisters and
it is so great! Because we have really been able to click and just
work so well! She is so great at helping feel the love of God and I
know that she wants me to be the best missionary out there! This week
we were talking to Carlos and we were talking to him about just
everything.. haha and he asked me why we thing that we stayed in this
area together for another transfer and we said we have no idea and he
told us that he know that we are here to help him and his friend Alex
come back to Christ and that he knew that we weren't going to get
transfered because we have the ability to help them both change! It was
a really cool thing! And really I have grown to love the people here!
I LOVE AGRENGINA!! Really I know that this is were I need to be! The
other day I was talking with Hermana Tew and she was talking about her
home and everything and all I could say was that I really don't think
about my home and that it feels like a dream.  That I have been here my
whole life! I don't want you all to think that I don't miss you but
really I have been so blessed to be able to just block it out of my
mind and focus on the work and nothing else! I am so blessed to be
here and I never want to think about leaving! I love serving the
Lord! It is the best thing that I have ever chosen to do! I love
working everyday until I am so tired that all I want to do is sleep. I
love being able to wake up every morning and just being so tired but
looking forward to such an amazing day of teaching! I love this gospel
and I know that it is true with every fiber of my being! The Book of
Mormon is the words of God! And really it can help us not only
spiritually but physically! And it really can answer any questions
that we have! Thank you all so much for your support! I am so blessed
to have each and everyone of you in my life!!

I am sorry that this letter is short but there wasn't a ciber open and
so we have been racing to find one and then of course the internet is
super slow and doesn't work!! Also sorry that I can't write you all back
that have written me this week!

Un abrazo, le amo y ore cada dia por ustedes!!

Hermana Griffiths!!:)

Wow what a crazy week! - Feb 10

What a great week! Really it has been so great! Well 1st of all I know that you are all wondering if I had transfers... Well last night we didn't get a phone call any of us so we are all still in Perico! But it is good-  I love my comp! (my mommy) So I am okay with the fact that I am going to be with her for at least 6 more weeks! And the other sisters are great so it is great! So six more weeks in Perico! And if I train the next transfers then I will be here for 12 more weeks!! Crazy but I really do love it here so I am fine with whatever! And you all know that my favorite song is "I'll go where you want me to go" so really I am just in the Lord's hand doing whatever he wants me to do!

The people that we have focused our week on this week is the family Baiz. They have a menos activo Alex and his little sister Melani is an invest eterno! For casi 4 years! The only reason that she isn't bautized right now is because she doesn't have permission from her mom. So we have been working really hard to gain the trust of her mom and it has been great we still don't have the permission but we are praying that it will happen this week!

Last week I talked a lot about Carlos, we teach him along with Alex and Melani because they are like best friends! This week has been great with him! He promised us this week that he will go on a mission and that he will so all that he can to help Alex to change also! Really the change in him is amazing.  Yesterday we all said goodbye to them because we had no idea sobre tranfers and he talked with hna pari and I for a minute and she that he is going to do all that he can to get his name on a badge just like ours! The Lord has his hand in this work and is helping so much with Carlos! Really the change that has happened with him is crazy! He went from drinking all weekends and smoking.. to doing nothing and he is now able to pass the sacrament and he has his white shirt and tie on in church.. that doesn't sound like such a big deal but here it is!! Cai nunca the people has a white shirt and tie!! And he is helping us so much with Alex! This week we had stake conference so everyone had to be at the church at 8 in the morning and Alex Carlos and Melani where able to come! Really it was great and Alex had his white shirt and tie also!

Our investigators are doing really well this week also! We have 5 that are progressing really well and we should be able to bautize them this cambio! Which is really good! It is nice to have people that are really ready and willing to change there lives! We have been praying a lot for the ability to find the people that god has is preparing to hear this message and it really is happening and changing!

I hope for all of you to be able to work more in this WORK!!! This isn't only for those of us that have a name tag! This really is the work for both to work together we need the help of the members to be able to really have success! DON'T EVER BE AFRAID TO SHARE THIS MESSAGE!! We have the keys for people to be able to live with God for eternity and with there families forever! I hope that all of you will take the time to really focus on at least one person this week and share the message with them! Anyone open up your months and share this wonderful message that we have the wonderful opportunity to know here in the earth! Thank you all so much for you support! You give me strength every week!

I know that this church is true! This is the work of the Lord! Joseph Smith really saw God and Jesus Christ in the sacred grove! And the Book of Mormon is the word of God! It can help us not only spiritually but also physically! I love you all so much! And can't wait to hear from each and everyone of you next week;) heheheh!

Hermana Griffiths!

HOLA FAMILIA y MIS AMIGOS!!:) - Feb 3

Wow what a crazy week really it has been such a great week! So many memories made! Eric I will try and take you advise that you gave to my mom! But first really quick! I have a stomach infection.. stupid food here! But I am taking a pill and it is helping a lot!! It is nice to not feel sick 24/7!! I fell in the mud and it was everywhere! Horrible! This week we decided to start running in the mornings and it is so nice!! I love to run and I never knew it! It is so much fun! and I feel so much better after! We have a great noche de hogar! (FHE) we made tacos and they died over them! haha they loved them! It has been super cold! Like 40 degrees! I know, I know that that is nothing right now for all you guys! But it has been like 90-100 everyday so for me right now it is cold! Bueno now I will go into more detail about 2 amazing experiences that we had this week!

1st- we have been working with a menos activo that has 18 years se llama Carlos! He is great he hasn't been going to church for like 2 years so pretty inactivo! We have been working really hard with him because the obispo asked us to focus a lot on helping him! He has been progressing really well he has had a problem with the word of wisdom and stopped drinking!! And his goal this week was to wear a white shirt and tie to church! Well not only that happen he was able to bless the sacrament!!! It was so good during the sacrament I almost started crying! Really it was so great! He is amazing and has ganas to serve a mission!!! It is so amazing really! He knows everything about the gospel.. more them me!! Haha and he has been coming with us on our visits! It is so great! I am so happy something that our obispo told us yesterday in our meeting with him is that he is really proud of all the work that we are doing to activate this ward! He said you know our ward doesn't have a lot of bautisms right now but he is grateful that we have been working really hard with the menos activos because we have reactivated members that haven't been coming to church for years! It is really great!

2nd- We really did have a miracle this week!!! Okay the obispo was coming with us on our visit to an invest. and when we got to his house he was talking to anther man on his porch.. so we waited for a minute and when they were done he started to walk away we started talking with our invest. and obispo said to the man that was walking away hola hermao como esta?? And he turned around and said Martin how are you (Martin is the name of our obispo)  and it turns out that he was a menos activo so we asked him to join us in the lesson! (se llama Daniel) it was so great the whole time he listened so well and answered all of our questions and read and explained parts of the lesson bueno you all need to know that he has been inactive for like 5 years.. bueno at the end of the lesson we asked him to say the prayer.. and it was beautiful! You have no idea!! He asked for forgiveness because he hasn't been coming to church he asked for strength to move forward.  He prayed for his friend! He prayed that he would want to go to church that he would have the deseos a leer and to pray! (oh my i am sorry that some of this is in Spanish It is so hard to write well in English!!) (to read- leer) after the prayer he asked us for a chapter to read in the Book of Mormon and then he asked obispo for a blessing! It was so great! After we asked him if he could pass by his friends house our invest. Ideneo on Sunday morning for church and he said he would! So yesterday we passed by his house in the and his mom said that he had left at 7:30 to pass by his friend house for church.. (church starts at 9) and Mormon standard time here is horrible!!!!!!!! Usually we start around 9:45!! Anyways so we headed to his friends house to make sure that he was headed to church with Daniel and he said that something had some up so he couldn't come... siempre!!! But when we got to church the obispo said that Daniel was was at the church at 8:20 waiting to go in!! Really it was so great! We had a lesson with him yesterday and he read what we asked him to read and then he told us that he wants to work to go to the temple with his brother!! Really!! We have another lesson with him this week and then he is also going to come on visits with us!! It has been amazing! The lord prepares people and everything falls into place when it needs to! he is great and I know that he is going to be an amazing priesthood leader in this ward!!

Well this coming Sunday we have tranfers!! Crazy! So I have no idea where I will be! Or who I will be with!  Usually the junior comp stays and the senior comp gets transferred, but I have no idea what the Lord has in store for me!! I am so excited! All of our leaders say that I will be training.. I am scared to death that it will happen but if it does I have faith that the Lord will bless me with the strength to do so!! Sorry I don't have pictures this week!! I actually have a ton taken this week but the computer that I am on won't let me!! Sorry!! This week has been a great one! Really I am so blessed to be here - yes it is really hard but I wouldn't change it for the world I love serving! I love being a tool in the Lord's hand! I love seeing people change there life's for the better!  I REALLY DO LOVE IT HERE!! Thank you all for the loving letters that I get.  I am so sorry that I can't personally write you all back! I hope that Morgan is doing well -  send her my love all the way from Argentina! And tell her I will work extra hard just for her! Thank you all for everything! Remember that this work is for us all! And always be willing to share!! Talk to you next week! I don't know if i will get to write a lot next week because of transfers but we will see!

Hermana Griffiths!!!:)

What a crazy week! - Jan 27

Wow I don't know where to begin! Enserio! bueno, this week has been filled with many crazy adventures! This Wednesday I was sick! It was terrible I don't really know what happened  but it was bad so in the morning one of the sisters from the other companionship stayed home with me and then that night a member was in the house with me while my comp. worked! We don't have time to be sick! It was sad I just slept all day long! And it was so hot! Man it is terrible not having an AC!!! Really it is hard! Right now we are working really hard with an eternal invest. because she is great and we need her in the wáter! Haha but we had a really cool experience with her the other day! Her bother is a less active member and his friend so when we teach her we also teach them! The spirit was rolling while we where teaching and we opened the hearts of the two boys Carlos and Alex and it was really great! They really want to change! But during the lesson Melani got mad I think because we where talking a lot to her brother and not to her and she was upset! at the end of the lesson we started talking to her and she opened up completely to us! It was great, but sad, because her house has a lot of problems! She was crying so hard and it was so sad, she cried in my arms for like 8 minutes! Her and I have a really weird bond.. she is so amazing and I want to help her so much! I know that she is one of the people that I promised that I would find while I was in heaven... really I feel like I have know her for years! We have noche de hogar with them tonight! (FHE) I am excited to see how it goes because we are going to talk with her mom about signing the papers for her bautism! This Friday was the craziest day of my life... really it was so scary!! The storm of all storms! It was so scary! We were in the house of the familia Villena for lunch and it was so hot in the morning! Like terribly hot! So we where sitting outside in the shade and it started to rain a little so we moved the table inside and all of the  sudden out of no where it is raining so hard! And the wind is blowing like crazy - it is hailing.. the windows in her house where all open so we raced to shut them all and it went on for a good 2 hours it was so scary! After we went outside and this huge tree in front of there house had fallen down... HUGE!!! And it was super close to landing on the room that we where in.. Blessing from the Lord! we ended up studying in the house and left around 5 to head home change into warm clothes and work! There were power lines down everywhere and trees everywhere - it was really bad! Some people said that there was a small tornado.. haha I have no idea! But it was bad and the power lines are still down today!!! About Salta... well because I can't travel alone and my comp. can't travel home alone the other sister had to come with us to Jujuy so I could meet the other missionaries traveling to Salta... Well I love the other sisters dearly but they are late for everything... so we where late leaving and I missed the bus.. it was terrible I was crying my eyes out because I felt terrible!  My comp. was getting in trouble because she had to call the offices to tell them that I wasn't coming and it was so bad... but I know that I missed the bus for a reason. I don't know why but I know that this is the Lord's work and I wasn't needed in Salta that day! This is the thing that I have realized most on my misión is that the Lord's hand is in this work and in our lives daily! Everything happens for a reason! I am sad that I didn't go to Salta this week because I want my package and I was going to travel with my comp. for the MTC but I know that I was needed here in Perico! This week has been great! I have really learned so much! I am so grateful that I am here right now.  It is so great! Serving the Lord is the best thing that I could be doing right now! Thank you all for the support! I hope that all is well! Talk to you all next week!
much love! Hermana Griffiths!

3 months!! what a crazy thing to think about! - Jan 20

I cant believe that I have been here for 3 months now! Really it is so crazy! This week has been a great week really! We have worked really hard and focused so much on the work and it really has worked well! We had 24 lessons this week and 20 of them where with a member present! And we had 19 lessons with inactives! It was really great! This week I learned about the true power of prayer! Really the Lord always answers our prayers even the littlest prayers that we ask for! HE ALWAYS ANSWERS!! This week we prayed everyday for the chance to be able to serve it with everything that have and we were able to! This week I had a cool experience with the spirit! we were in a lesson and hna pari asked him if he would prepare to be bautized and he was not quite sure because he said that he has been praying for an answer for a while to know if the church is true! And I randomly said to him that if he came to church with us this week he would possibly have an easier time to find his answer because he will be in the house of the Lord! It was really good! And after he said that he wants to be bautized when he has his answer! It was really cool! And I know that the spirit was the teacher right then because I hadn't thought much about saying that to him ever before! Oh I get my official documents for Argentina this week! So I get to go to Salta! And that means that I get my package this week! I am excited! This week I am so grateful for hna pari! She helps me so much really she is amazing! She has an amazing way of teaching and I learn so much from he each and everyday! I am her third "daughter" and she will most likely training next tranlado also! Which is crazy! She is amazing! Thursday we needed to find some more new investigators so we decided to knock a few 100 doors... really we knocked like 40 doors and we didn't talk to anyone.. that day was hard and it makes me grateful that I am here in Argentina and the work is crazy busy because I know that I couldn't knock doors all day long it is hard! The weather is crazy just like Utah! Seriously one minute it is crazy hot! So so so hot and the next it is raining like crazy and then 5 minutes later it is crazy hot again! Craziness! Haha this week I had to give my 1st talk in sacrament... it was super hard.  I was shaking like crazy but I was able to give my talk without reading anything just talking with some pointers! It was really good and everyone said that it was really good... don't know if they where just being nice but it is all good! The others sisters that live with us are also training so they have been with us for the whole time.  It is nice because hna tew and I are like best friends! Really it is great and she lives in Idaho! Haha super close -  we have plans to do things after the mission! I am so grateful for her because she helps me a lot! I can talk to her about anything and she will help me! I can do this with hna pari also but I just can't say it all in Spanish! Haha that is a problem! This week she decided that it would be funny to play a prank on me.. Eric you know what that means! She has no idea what she has coming for her in the future! Haha she put a fake spider in my bed.. and if I was in Utah I wouldn't have thought anything about it but here they are all huge! And I freaked out!  Plus i didn't have my contacts in so I couldn't see well - it was terrible! She should be scared! Hehehehe!!!! Also it is really funny to teach hna pari and hna musmano things that are funny in English! This week I taught hna pari, "stop bugging me" and it is so funny! I die every time she says it! she is great I love her so much!

Well this work is the work of God! It is so wonderful to be here right now while the Lord is hastening his work! Because he really is preparing everyone to hear the gospel! Though the spirit we are able to touch the hearts of so many people and it really is amazing!

Hermana Griffiths!

p.s. Sorry for no pictures this week - the ciber that we are on right now is super mal! And doesn't work to well! Next week!
