Sister Courtney Machelle Griffiths : June 30

wow what a great week!

really we have had a great week of learning! something that is a little hard about this area and possibly why my letters have been a little less detailed is that sometimes we don't have many lessons inside the house-- just outside and we only teach a little bit! but i will try to be better! haha

yesterday we were looking for a former invest of the elders and her name is belen for about 3 weeks we have been knocking on her door to try to talk with her but she is never home! we don't really know why we have been trying for so long but hey when you feel the spirit when you are planning and you put her name almost everyday you know that it is for a purpose! so we have been looking! well last night we went and only her grandpa was home so we asked if we could share something with him! and he said why not! we started teaching him and it was hard because he is old like 82 and doesn't hear all that well! haha so... what does that mean... he isn't going to understand the gringa! (me) haha but hey so i just kinda sat back and watch as my comp was teaching! and it was pretty amazing! he didn't understand much we tried to explain in the way that he could understand! and he really started to understand! it was so amazing to be able to watch the spirit work though him! really it was so great and i just sat back and watched! after my comp invited that he could come to church with us and that and he said well i have the problem that i cant walk..so we said that the bishop could come and pick him up! and he said "you know what i would love to go!" and after we invited him to be bauptized and he said yes.. and we asked him if he understood and he said... no can you repeat it! haha it was pretty funny! and so we asked him again and he said yes! haha we asked him to explain the question to really know if he knew what we were saying and he said that we were inviting him to be bauptized! it was so amazing! he said "what do i need to do" haha so we explained and he said that he wants to do it! really it was an amazing lesson! it be able to enter in the lesson and that he couldn't understand anything but then when the spirit entered! EVERYTHING WAS UNDERSTOOD! really so amazing!

also we have been working with a less active family! and this week was amazing! really we had a lesson about the importance to go to church every week! and we talked about how we have the agency to go but this is the plan of god to be able to choose the right not to be forced to do the right! something that our president de mision has taught us is that when we are choose wrong... sinning we are showing god that we love Satan more.. and when he said that... our my my world changed but it is true we need to choose the right because we love god and we want to do the right ans though these actions we are showing god that we love him and every time we are one more step away from Satan and one step closer to god! really it was a great lesson!

this week i finished the Book of Mormon! and it was so great! really i read it in Spanish! it was such a great feeling to shut the book knowing that i have read each and every word... haha and then open it the next day and be in 1 nefi again.,.. haha the joy was short! haha but it was nice!
